Moving picky eater up to next amount.

Hello everyone!

Things with my little girl Hestia have been going well, except that she has been finicky about eating since I moved her to fuzzies. Someone told me she might just dislike hairy food, which I guess I can relate to.

I have dealt with this by feeding her a pinkie to get her to open up, and then chain-feeding a fuzzy behind it. However, she has gotten bigger and looks as though she needs two fuzzies. Is it okay to feed her a small pinkie before the fuzzies, or is there another way I can make her take them?

(I'm looking into rat pinkies as well, but I'm afraid to order in bulk since I only have one snake and most sites are minimum 100.)

Thank you!
~sami

P.S. Hestia is around two feet long and 52 grams as of three days ago.

I don't think it would hurt to feed her a small pinky in order to get her to take the fuzzies.

I would try to feed her the fuzzies every now and then, without the pinky. You may try some of the tricks people use to get their hatchlings to feed. Such as soak the fuzzies in chicken broth or tune broth. This may help.
