Musking...how frequent?

I was nearing the point where I was ready to get a corn snake but I was reading the other day that Cornsnakes musk when scared or disturbed suddenly. This is a big deterrent for me (and my wife)....could any of you comment on how frequent corns musk? Also, are there any other types of snakes which don't do this? Thanks!

When I asked this question, I believe the responses I got were along the lines of "not often."

I have 2 hatchlings (got them in March) and haven't been musked at all. Not to mention the countless number of other corns I have held...none have ever musked me. On the other hand, I hear garter snakes are frequent muskers.

I have had one snake since 12/02, never musked me. I have had another for about 4 months, musked me once. However I believe it was my fault as he had been stressed because of cohab, when he got in his own viv, I didn't let him rest long enough before I wanted to hold him. So I guess no telling, how often they will musk.

None of mine have ever musked me. I've had two of them since late '04, and got two earlier this year.

mine has never musked me even when i handled him before he was used to his home. i think its just the kings and the garters that do most of the musking.
