My amel corn snake pooped on me

So I was laying in bed with her tonight, and normally she just crawls around me and I watch her so she doesn't stray far. She crawled up my sleeve and layed on my arm for a little bit. Then she came down, hid under one of the folds of my shirt, and left me a present. Nasty looking stuff lol. My mom said something that got me thinking, is it because I handle her too much that she pooped on me? I handle her at least twice a day. I'm in love with her! She's only about 14 inches or so, so shes just adorable. Is there any problem with handling her this much?

Well, if you've fed her in the last couple of days, it might be a red flag. Typically, it is best to leave her alone 2-3 days after you feed her. Then, AFTER you see poop in her viv (and clean it out, of course :p ) it should be safe to handle her without the pooping incident.

In addition to musking, snakes also poop when they feel threatened. If you think your amel's poop was bad, guess what a W/C rattler's poop smells like... VICIOUS stuff!!! LOL.

BTW, where in AZ are you? I'm in East Mesa.

Ya I fed her 2 days ago...I figured since she was moving around it'd be safe to hold her lol. She might have felt threatened I suppose. And I live in Peoria!

Kewl. My Uncle lives close to there (at least I THINK he does). He can see the Cardinal's Stadium in the distance from his back yard.

Yeah. I would wait until you see poop next time (and it might be hard to find from a small corn) before you handle the little one.
