My Amel & egg laying

Took my amel to a shop today to get her sexed as she has been behaving funny and wasnt a confirmed female when i got her. they said that she was acting weird as she is female and is ovulating?

I have heard the term gravid female? is this used for a female laying unfertilised eggs.

So they said she will lay eggs - obviously unfertilised as she hasn't had any 'sexy time'! :)

I have sed up a humid hide with warm damp moss.

How long will i be waiting for her to lay?

She hasnt eaten for over 4 weeks, but is still incredibly active. I never take her out of viv. I open the doors and let her come out onto me as and when she wants. she seems to happily come out all the time now. Although on a very off day she will go into her normal hide if i open the viv.

Is there anything else i can do to make her comfy apart from damp humid hide, clean fresh water daily and a nice warm tank on one side and cooler on the other?

any help is appreciated! love learning about my snake! (its even been taking priority over degree  Lol

Hiya - hopefully have answered on your other thread, but here are answers to the specific questions here:

I have heard the term gravid female? is this used for a female laying unfertilised eggs.
"Gravid" is the term for a female snake that is carrying eggs (either fertile or infertile). "Ovulation" is the stage before eggs form, when potential eggs (ova) are fully developed and ready to form eggs. Sometimes these can form into eggs even if unfertilised, but sometimes the ova can just be reabsorbed and no eggs will result.

Beware that female Corns can store sperm for several months, so if she's been with a male at any time in the last few months (potentially a year, I think?) then she still might lay fertile eggs.

How long will i be waiting for her to lay?
Difficult to know unless you can get info on what happened this time last year. Hopefully soon as she's acting as a laying female would do.

She hasnt eaten for over 4 weeks, but is still incredibly active.
That's typical for a gravid female and sometimes ovulating females can do that as well.

Is there anything else i can do to make her comfy apart from damp humid hide, clean fresh water daily and a nice warm tank on one side and cooler on the other?
I think you have it pretty much right!

Hope that helps.
