ive got quite a young snake its close to a year old, its on fuzzies, last night when i fed it i noticed a bit of bark substrate stuck to the back of the mouse, it had already started to eat it and didnt want to disturb it, its was on loose so i thought it would fall off, when i came back from down stairs i noticed a littlelump in his side. I felt it and its that bit of bark. its quite small.
Just would like to know if he will regurgitate it , or will he be able to brake it down inside and pass it out with the food?
A quick reply would be appreciated, Thanks

I dont know about breaking it down... but I know that it should become smaller... Im not sure how but they usually do... the problem that might accure is when the corn has to take a poo... thats when its going to hurt for them... because the bark doesnt really breakdown so it has to come out some way... I wouldnt worry if the bark was small... but a larger piece could cause some real problems... I guess its that time to tell you that you should always feed your corn in a diff encloser... so this way they dont have a chance to swallow loose substrate...

It should just pass through. Watch and make sure that your snake has normal bowel movements. If you don't want to feed outside the cage then you might want to put something down in the cage like papertowels or newspaper and let the snake eat on that. Keep a watch on him and good luck.

my snake swallowed a wood chip a while back and i was worried but as long as it is still making bowel movements it should be ok.
