IF you want to know what is sad....I have lived in Texas since well I was 6 and I have never seen any venomous snakes or spiders. But but we have them all ofer the place here. I have spent many an hour at the creeks as a kid and many a time roaming through san dunes in Galveston, ofcourse this was before I knew W Rattlesnakes are in quite abundence in those dunes. I guess I am just not as observent as I should be, soimetimes I feel like Mrs. Magoo hehe

the bottom is rock and i put a cuople clean racoon bones and a skull in the(for looks) the peice of carboard is its hiding place and i put the water in a nesquik lid.

Graet snake!!! Careful that the lizard lovers wont get upset.:) Pay very close attention to the cardboard hide if any poop gets on it through it out. It could be a breeding ground for germs.

Lucky you,
Jimmy C.

Ok, you caught this snake and you're going to keep it? I'm surprised nobody said anything about that...

Release, and go find one for sale. If you do any shopping around, you'll find one for less than $20, which is cheaper than taking a wild one to the vet (required).

you'll have to wait at least 3 months until you can safely breed that snake. If it is a female, you shouldn't breed her until she is a lot bigger.

I also think it's not a good idea to keep this wild corn as a pet for longer than a couple days.
There are plenty of attractive, cheap morphs out there and you will probably have a better chance with one of those captive-bred ones.

I am surprised

It is my understanding that it is DANGEROUS to keep a cornsnake on gravel as there is a chance it will swallow the gravel, (become impacted)and DIE.I am surprised that anyone would house their snake on gravel and more surprised that no one else has said anything about this to you.If I am wrong I am sure I will be corrected, though.
