As it sits right now - probably going to add rails to the sides as well. Should look much better when it's not empty =P

Made a shelf tonight at work along with some plant bases like you have been posting drybgerg. Should have this thing furnished by Friday.

Nice!! Glad I could inspire somebody lol!!!

That's why I get on message boards like this when I have an interest in something. I wasn't sure how I was going to keep them upright. Now I know. What do you guys recommend using to hang vines? Would tight staples be ok since suction cups aren't really an option?

I think staples would be fine if they can't be pulled out, staples for romex would work or I think you could use the plastic staples for romex (the staple part is plastic with a panel style nail on each end) or nylon cable clamps with appropriate sized screw.

Looking good!!! Where did you get the vines and what did you use to hang them?

Thank you. I got the vines from JoAnn fabrics, cut the loops off the ends of them for safety, and used "U" shaped staples that have a more rounded edge rather than traditional.

I hate to drill another hole in the thing for the thermostat probe, but it's going to look a lot nicer if I do. If I run it through the same grommet as the RHP cord, it's going to run down the side or back corner. If i drill a new hole behind where the perch starts, it won't even be seen. What do you guys think?

I think behind the perch would be a cleaner install for sure.

Done, and I like how it looks, or doesn't look =P. Temps are right and everything now I just can't wait for her to get here. I'm also going to add a bigger hide soon because these small ones look extremely small in this enclosure.

Just remember, the hide has to be small enough for them to feel secure enough... a big open space is a big open space, whether it's out in the open or in an open cavern. Usually something that touches all sides when they're curled up in it is recommended, that way they know they are safe where the hide is touching them, so they don't have to worry about predators from behind/above/beside/etc.

You can always use crumpled paper or shove some bedding in there to make a large hide smaller internally :)

Oh I have two small hides (one on each side of course) that will make her feel secure. They just look tiny and I'd like to add a nice sized piece in the middle or something. Just haven't figured out what yet.

Awesome! Can't wait to see it with the snake included?

Are those 3 white plastic pieces really secure on there? I could see a snake rubbing their nose against one, popping it off, and slithering out ;P

But really I'm super jealous! Maybe someday I'll try something like this!
