Last week, my family and I went to Barcelona, Spain. And on the last day we went to a street called las ramblas, it is a HUGE shopping street
For the first third of it, all the markets are mini pet shops. They are unbelievably cheap, and in most cases, have better husbandry than most English pet shops!
Reptile-wise, There were only a few snakes, 1 ball python and 2 corns (amel and striped), but there were hundereds of lizards:beardies, leopard geckos, water dragons, monitors, blue tongued skinks, you name it, they had it. lol
The best deal i saw, was green iguanas for 13 euros (hmm.... thats around 9 british pounds), and i was wondering how much they were being sold for in the Uk and the USA?? They were babies, same size as water dragons.
I would never plan on getting one, because i dont have the space or money to care for one, and i heard they grow 6 feet.
Near las ramblas, there was a pet shop that were feeding live fuzzies to chameleon-like things, it was horrible. He just picked them up and threw then into the viv, they were shivering and looked so cute. but now... :sobstory:
I am glad that here in England, live feeding is illegal, it was the most disturbing thing ever. :eek1:
Oh ye, back here in England, it was feeding time, and i was going to feed Silas two hopper mice, but instead, my twin brother Max fed one, and my 8 year old lil brother Joe fed the second. It was the most aggressive feeding response I had ever seen from him. He saw the shadow of the mouse Joe was holding and struck at it, then ate the mouse backwards. It was hilarious, :crazy02: Silas was there with the head of a little mouse sticking out of his mouth. I have pictures of that if anybody wants to see...
