More pics to come, this is a quick one since I am at work. He's nameless until I get to know his personality, still taking suggestions!

He's a beauty!
Congrats!
As for the name..I can't really offer any suggestions. I usually have to ask other people on here! Lol.

Thanks for sharing!

For some reason the name "Tarzan" popped into my head - probably because he is hanging from the vine!
Very handsome - nice bright color! Congrats!

Thanks everyone! More pics & details to come tonight for sure. I like the name Ridley, but I already have a dog named Riley, I think it's too close.

The parents were F-1 (male) and N (female). So I guess he's not related to the May '08 clutch. He's June '08.

I hope he grows up to look like the F-1 male :D

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :dancer:
I'm so glad to see he made it to New England safely. It was wicked cold today, I was getting a little worried. I guess the heat packs worked out just fine. I love F-1 too. I think your little guy is going to be the spitting image of his old man. He is a stunner! More pics please.

Ok! I'm home from work and trying to stay away from the tank & leave him alone. It's so haaarrrrd!!!

He was hiding at first (totally under the substrate) but then he came up behind a plant since I've been sitting quietly in the office (you can hear a pin drop when I'm not typing), and now he is up in the vines. I glanced up and saw him stretched out like a tiger up in a tree, now he is coiled up in the vines near the top. I put a towel up on the screen to trap in some humidity, and it must've made it dark enough for him to feel comfortable to come out and explore.

I'm sure this is a treat, to actually see your snake on day one!

I'm thinking about calling him Cipher, he's so sneaky and cryptic crawling through the vines. Here are some pics:

Thanks!

After this experience I would never, ever, ever have a snake shipped to me with these low temperatures again. I thought waiting until the end of March would be fine, temps last week were in the 50s, then all of a sudden it dropped back down to about 19 F today.

He was chilly when I took him out of the box. I swear I must've been staring out the window waiting for the UPS truck for about 3 hrs straight once I saw he was out for delivery @ 8 am. Once the UPS guy pulled in, I was already out in the driveway ready to rip the box from his hands and get this guy inside! His heat pack was not warm anymore, luckily Lee did a very good job packing him up w/ styrofoam. Still, I would never ever have a snake shipped to me at these low temps ever again. I felt so bad. But, he came out alert and tongue flicking, if not a little distraught from the journey.

I hope he forgives me for ripping him away from Florida!

He's a very beautiful animal. You just can't go wrong with an Okeetee from Lee, Don, or even Kathy. All three breeders have produced some of the best looking Okeetees to be had anywhere!

I looove Abbott's okeetees... I REALLY have to get one for myself sometime! Yours is gorgeous, Congrats!!! :dancer:

And I think the name Oliver seems to suit him... :D

Haha I love this...I was about to go to bed, but snuck in the office really quietly and just put the monitor on for a bit of light to check on him, and there he is, completely stretched out right in front of the glass.

I put the light on and he seems annoyed at me, went into his warm side log hide. Now I see what he was up to...there's fresh poop front and center on his aspen.

When he was buried in the aspen I was wondering how I'd ever find the poop, but hopefully it will always be this obvious.

Me likey!

I'd love to see photos of his coloration changes in the future, and hear about his personality. Best wishes for a calm one who enjoys being handled!

Dan

He's beautiful!!!! I know you're probably calling him Cipher, but for some reason Lional came to mind when I saw him...I think his colors remind me of the leader of the Thundercats! haha

Nothing's set in stone yet! I am waiting to handle this guy a few times before I make up my mind on his name. Sneaky bastard is buried in the aspen somewhere now... good thing I have nice decor in my tank, because there's no snake to look at :p

I will do a progression thread for him once I name him :) I want to get a scale too to track his growth. I hope he is a nice oke and doesn't chomp me too much!
