My snake has a straw hide.

I'm not sure on the straw. I wouldn't imagine it would be harmful though. Only thing I would worry about is your snake getting into that vase and not being able to get out.
 
I'm pretty sure a wild snake comes across all forms of dried grasses. If she never uses it, then I'd give it to the birds.

About the vase ZoologyMajor, it has no water in it, the plant is fake and the vase doesn't go down that deep only about 2inchs.
