Nat Geo Wild: Python Hunters

CodeRed

Critter Creeper
GREAT SHOW. Finally a show, a series even, that shows a POSITIVE view of the pythons in Florida. There is NO evil propaganda being spread about how they're going to kill everything they see and such. The guys are real, snake loving guys who regret that the snakes they capture are going to be killed, but they're trying to find out the real story behind the pythons. I've only seen about 15 minutes, but already they've said that out of the 3,000-117,000 estimates of pythons in the Everglades, 3,000 is far more likely. They've also said that it doesn't seem like they're causing a dent in the native animal populations, and may even be helping the ecosystem by filling in a increasingly-vacant niche, the hunter. It could be keeping raccoons and possums down, helping turtles and other animals to reproduce. Just now as I watch, they point out something the media misses, that the wild adult snakes probably only eat... what, 25 meals a year tops? And that's if they're eating good... and not counting colder months when they're slower. So far, a VERY good show that' very pro-python and is actually pointing out many facts that the "evil pythons" group seem to miss. Very nice. I suggest it. Don't be scared away by the title. I haven't even seen a full episode yet, but from what I see, I really like it.

I have really enjoyed the show also. They really love the species and respect it. I look forward to it coming on every Monday. Great show!

Ooooh, if only this weren't my last week with cable television...will have to check the internet for it, lol.
