The only known genetics prior to breeding these adults were lavender and blood. Now I know they are also het amel and anery, but is hypo in here too? There are two interesting looking bloods in the clutch; what the heck are they? Lav Blood, hypo Blood? I am not sure what I am looking at so input from anyone who has more experience in these combos would be appreciated.

looks like you may have a lav blood and a hypo blood in there, but i'm not 100% positive on that. nice looking clutch anyway.

Nice bunch of kids there! Is there any way you can get pics of the parents? I'd like to see belly shots on the babies too. Looks like you do have some hypos.

The parents are both normals but I attached a pic. I will try to get some belly shots when I can. The ones that are obviously blood red have plain bellys and some of the ones that don't look blood reds, are blood reds and have plain bellys.

That one could be a ghost bloodred since both parents are het anery and hypo. Beautiful babies!

How cool is that?

I don't have enough experience to make a call other then the one looks like a hypo Blood and one may be hypo anery blood or Lav blood.

Anyway you look at it, it is just too cool!

The thing is that I don't know if the parents are het Hypo. What would the possiblities be that if they are het hypo, that the only hypo in the clutch is that blood red. There is a small chance that the amels are hypo. But the odds of producing a ghost blood and no other visible hypos are not that great. So it is undetermined to me that the parents are het hypo. They are cool looking though.

Well...that baby in the last picture is a hypo...so BOTH of the parents have to be het hypo. That's why I thought that the other one could be a ghost bloodred. Of course, as wikkedkornman said, it may also be a lavender bloodred.

That is what I was thinking too. I was just considering the odds though, which is why I am really questioning them being hypo. Definately looks hypo to me, but why aren't there any others. Strange....

Lady Luck must have beat Murphy when he tried to hit your place! Are you going to hold on to the mystery ghost blood/lav blood baby and watch how it turns out?

DEFINATELY A KEEPER! I think both of the oddballs will be.

that last one is a gorgeous hypo blood. i think the other looks like a ghost blood.

maybe the reason you got so few hypos is because you're dealing with multi-hets, who knows.

i agree with clint....a clutch like that is one to be proud of for sure. those and the ultramels you hatched should keep you going for a while huh!! LOL

LOL. Right about now I am almost wishing those were the only 2 clutches I produced this year. It is more like 30 or so and I don't have a clue how I am going to deal with all the hatchlings with everything else I have going on. My ebay business amongst other ventures already keeps my hands overflowing with things to keep them busy. I am already making plans to wholesale a bunch of these hatchlings before they get to be too much, which they already are. It is totally worth it though to see these little guys come into the world.

Ghost blood . . .

Looks like a ghost blood to me. Here's one from last year. It started out about the color of yours there as I recall. It's much pinker now. I'll get a new picture of it when I can.

Rich Hume breeds those as I recall.

I think Rich Z. is gonna have to comment on that hypo blood. It's obviously at least hypo blood and probably then some.

They're beautiful. Big kudos.

Thanks everyone for your input. I know it is ridiculous to be disappointed with a snake like this but I was really hoping on a Lavender Blood Red. I guess I am in the market now to buy some, so if anyone has any reasonably priced let me know.

Jason. Only few minutes to answer your questions as you get the parents from me few years ago.
I breed my male hypo bloodred to my Lavender het opal, at that time I don't know that my female lavender was het anery too. I always guarantee my snakes to be what I say they are, for sure they are from my Bloodred/Lavender project.

It's just one of those things that we really have no control over. I've had genes pop up in some of my higher end, highly anticipated projects that the breeders were completely unaware of.

Just think of it as an extra little bonus! Even if you don't get the exact morph you were shooting for.
