hey all, i just got an albino corn snake yesterday that is about 1-2 months old! i love the red/yellow colours to it , and i got a pretty nice terrarium set up for him/her? (still don't know that yet). im probably going to get flamed for this but im kinda scared to pick it up..yes sad i know, but true. also i tried offering it a pinky mouse today and it just slithered away from it. the person i got it from said its eating live already so i tried but nothing? maybe cause its scared of its new home because it was in a small container before? i don't know, ive researched tons before i got it so i think i have most things down pat. i also have a juvenile bearded dragon i got when it was about 3.5 weeks old and i love it, still fairly new to me also but much easier for me to handle since its not as scary ahahaha..some help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe i should just leave it for a week or so like i read in some other threads? ahaha i don't know thats why im here:)

Congrats on your new snake! It's probably best to leave it alone for a little while so it has time to get used to it's new home.

Hiya! Welcome to the forum! As Jenne said, it's best to leave it alone to settle.

As for being afraid of it... at this stage, there's really nothing to be afraid of. A bite from a corn this big probably won't even scratch your skin and can't really hurt you in any way. Just remember that little corns like this think they'll be eaten by anything that walks by. After it settles in and realizes that you are not a threat to it, it should calm down and stop striking at you.

Good luck with your little corn! Hopefully, you can get pics up (after it settles in, of course) and share them with us!

How big is your container now? ...Or better yet how much bigger is it than the previous one?

Small baby snakes are better off in small containers. They feel more threatened in bigger terrariums and that causes them a lot of stress...which furthermore may cause the snake to refuse the food you're offering to him/her.

As the snake grows the container is swapped to a bigger one and bigger one...
