I wanted to post an intro now that I've done some research on this incredibly informative site and have committed to an '07 Okatee. I've had, and still have, quite a few different pets/friends, and after waiting over 30 years I'm getting my first snake! I've got many questions even after days of scouring this great site and will post them in the appropriate forums (I hope!).

Like I said above, its an Okatee male, over 1 yr old, and a very mellow. I'm setting up the 40 gal viv right now (bought it used), so I'm really busy, but not too busy to start asking questions to fill in the blanks.

Thanks again!
Deb

you can definitely ask here.. we are usually good about answering.

40 gallon is definitely big enough for a yearling, its ok to do, but just make sure you can get the right temperatures, and you will probably need more hides to make him feel more comfortable. that is probably the only thind i would suggest right now. my yearling is in a 20 gallon long, and im thinking of getting a bigger tank for him. oh well. lol.

oh and fair warning, everyone will want pictures!

and welcome to the forum!

I'm pretty new myself! Fair warning this forum is addicting!

Oh and Trent is right.....we love pictures!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I guess the first thing I've learned is there is no "a" in Okeetee (oops!). I promise to post some pix next week when my camera comes home.
