New Corn Owner

Today thanks to Kathy Love at CornUtopia we received a new corn. Well new to us. He was born in 2008 and is an albino okeetee. Really nice and healthy looking. I will post a pic when he comes out of hiding. I like some others I have read about was the type of person that never in a million years imagined myself having a snake as a pet. However my 5yr old son finally wore me down and now that we have the snake I am excited about it. My husband is deployed to Afghanistan and I seem to give in to my son a lot more than I normally would since he has been gone. He called today and was quite shocked when my son told him of our new pet. He is okay with it though. We are new to the snake world but I have done my research on the web and through books, had a lengthy conversation with Kathy Love, and have consulted with a Vet so hopefully all will go well.

Hello and welcome. You started off on the right foot by starting with one of Kathy Love's corns. There are people here who know just about everything, and Kathy comes here too.

welcome! make sure you do post some pics of the little guy! you could even start a progression thread in the photo section if you'd like.

Welcome! I also have a crew of little boys that wore me down and eventually converted me to a snake lover. Now we are waiting for our first. I have found this board very helpful and I hope that you will too.

(oh - and I'm in IL too!)

p.s. thank you to your husband for his service and your family for your sacrifices. we'll pray that he is safe.
