hey guys...

i just recently (saterday) picked up an anery from the reptile show in edmonton alberta, and on that day, i fed her a hopper since thats what i feed my other girl arun. both of them are the same size...almost exactly.

anyway, i took her out today to give her a swim, i figured she was thirsty and had to poo, because im pretty sure she didnt come up out of the substrate for a drink, and her vent was lookin like she had to go.

so, i put her in the tub, and she slithers on over to the water and immediatly starts drinking....after shes done drinking (about 1 to 1 and a half minutes) she begins to do this wierd thing that i havent seen my other corn do...she opened her mouth about a millimeter and was pushing it down on the bath tub, and kind of looked like she was gaging...it was kind of wierd.. i thought maybe she was going for a regurge, but her body wasnt moving in and out....just her throat. maybe this is how they induce a regurge?

so she did that while i watched her for about a minute and nothing was happening, so i made some waves in the water that gently brushed up against her, and she stopped. slithered around a little bit more, and lifted her tail to take a poop. she seemed to be having allot of trouble pushing it out...i was watching her move her muscles down there like my other corn does, and expecting the poo to come out no problem...but only until i ducked behind the tub did i hear it 'explode' out. the first thing to come out was light brownish red...not red, but kinda not right looking, which was a pile of soft diarhea, then came out some normal colored, but soft poos, and a white shpere looking thing....not an egg....kind of looked like the jaw of the mouse.

anyways, could it just be a sketchy digestion because of the stress of being at the loud reptile show, and then being transported home?

if anyone could help me with any answers as to if i might have a sick corn on my hands that would help.

WEll more info would be needed to figure out if it is a digestion problem

Is there a uth or a hot side in your viv ?
Snake require belly heat to help digest .
You picked her up on Saturday and feed her that day ..
I would of waited at least 3 days(min) before attempting to feed ..

what kind of substrate?
do you feed her in there emclosure?

Hahah... I agree with you discus. Way too much info.

But I agree with discus, make sure you have proper heat and are not feeding her in its cage. I'm sure you have already heard, but if they get some kind of substrate in their system, it can sure cause some damage.

the temps are proper...buiilt my own rheo using that forums. works GRRREAAAT.

i didnt really handle her the day i got her. i just picked her oput of the cage, put her straight in SEPERATE feeding container, and let her eat.

waited till i knew she had it all the way down in her belly, and i very gently picked her up (not from the bulge) and just let her back home.

it was a perfect feeding.

im more worried about what she was doing with her jaw against the tub.

please if anyone has any info that would help out allot. i guess i didnt really give you a direct answer to whether or not i had a uth, yes i do. i zoo med one under half of the tank. its set to about 83-84.5 F .

she is allot stronger than my first corn arun. when i pick her up she holds on real tight, while my other corn is just soft and mellow...so i know shes got muscle and shes not skinny like she wasnt fed well. no mites can be seen on her as far as i can tell as well.

if you need any more information that i might be missing so you can better help me figure out if there is a problem, please let me know.

thanks to anybody who may be able to give some input.

well i got my brother in law's mom to check for any illness's on the snake and she said my snake janan is just fine.

thanks anyway guys!
