Everyone has their Cresties these days, and now I have these...Grey Tree Frogs, five of them.
They're native to the Eastern US and a pretty hardy captive, from what I've read. They don't require near the elaborate conditions other frogs do, which makes them perfect for me. So we'll see how they do.
I found these guys under the cover of my parents' pool that I helped to remove today. Packaged them up and brought them home. They're part of the mob having loads of sex on the pool cover. Mom spent 3-4 hours dipping all the zillions of tadpoles off the cover and into a kiddy pool. So hopefully not all is lost. I know mom will be glad to be rid of a handful less frogs, as the pool area is deafening loud at night with their calls of romance.
I've got these guys housed in a medium Exo Terra Terrarium. Moist sphagnum moss substrate, cork bark ramp, a couple of my epiphytic orchids, and a small full spectrum bulb. They'll get some more stuff as I find time to enrich their environment.
So far a few have sampled the roach cuisine and found it to their liking. Hopefully the others agree on the menu.
