Hey everyone my father and i went to the oklahoma reptile show today and got a new little addition to the family :) he is a pueblan mlik snake. He is the coolest snake ever! Right when we got him and put him in his cage he went right under the bedding but after my basketball game i came home and he was on the aspen bedding slithering around having a great time. Since he is in a new home i dont want to bother him much by taking pics yet. I will put some pics on here soon though. He is pretty little but he is beautiful, and i know he is a he. Does anyone have any ideas of how to make some hides out of stuff at home? Since we have gotton quite a bit of animals latley we are on a tight budget. Thanks :)

Congrats on your new pick-up!

Hides are extremely easy to make out of empty cardboard food containers (think cereal boxes, etc), empty kleenex boxes, etc. Use your imagination! Just make sure they have a hole to get in and out of, and that they can comfortably fit inside and it'll work just fine. Empty paper towel rolls also work well for smaller snakes.

I went to goodwill and found corn on the cob trays .... kinda like this

Isn't it funny what we can see as "hides" that others would look at as something to hold food?
Great finds!
