Hey everyone!

I'm Krista. I'm from Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
I have been registered on this site for ages, and have just been lurking thus far...so I figured I would say hi.
I currently have 4 snakes and 1 lizard.
2009 0.1 Bloodred corn (Produced by Pete aka Comoxcorns)
2008 0.1 Ball Python
2007 0.1 Irian Jaya Carpet Python
2010 1.0 Coastal Jaguar Carpet Python
???? 0.0.1 Indonesian Blue Tongue Skink (I think it's female, and possibly born in 2006 or 2007, wild caught, adopted from a reptile rescue)
Aaaand I might be taking in another corn soon as well, a 4-1/2 foot albino (I think)female! (My friend is pregnant and doen't feel she will have time for her)

In the past I've had boas, iguanas, and turtles as well.

I'm pretty sure I already know a few people on this forum, so hello to all of you!

I would say welcome to the sight, but it looks like you've been here for a year and a half. So congratulations on your first post!

I just got a hatchling bloodred, my first (both first bloodred and first hatchling). Can't wait to see how it develops. Do you have any pictures of yours? How is its temperament? Mine is pretty skittish, but I think that's more because it's a hatchling.

Haha yeah, I've been around for a while...
I registered and just came on periodically to look up caresheets and browse pictures. But you know how it is, so many forums...so little time!

My bloodred is a pretty calm yearling now, but she was very....FIESTY...as a hatchling
She just did not want to be handled at all, and would strike, musk and death-roll non-stop the moment I took her out of her enclosure. Because of this, I wasn't able to get many good pictures of her in the first year..
But when she was nearing the 1 year mark she started to calm down a lot. I just held her gently for a few minutes every other day or so, and now she is a totally different snake. Really docile and curious :)
She still has a PSYCHO feeding response however. She goes from cute little bloodred to blood python (well, in her mind anyways...) the second a rodent is in the room.

I like 'em fiesty though. And she really wasn't that bad...and there's nothing like a baby carpet python to make even the meanest corn look like a saint ;) lol

Glad to hear that she's calmed down. Gives me hope! And she's a beautiful snake. I hear they get even darker and redder as they age.

Yeah I can't wait to see how dark she gets, she is already cherry red (which my stupid camera cannot capture)...and getting redder with every shed :)
If she turns out anything like her parents, she will be a stunner!
