Hello All!

I'm a new corn snake owner. I have enjoyed reading through the posts and have gained a lot of knowledge from all of you!

I have two corn snakes I purchased from a friend who couldn't keep them anymore. They are just about 1 year old. I'm enjoying them very much. I'm trying to learn about the different colors and their names. I'm sure one is Amelanistic (named "Fluffy"/ female) and the other is Hypomalanistic (named "Mufasa"/ male). Currently, they are co-habitating in one tank. They've been together since they were very young. I found the thread on 'more than one snake in a tank' very helpful and interesting. So far, my two snakes seem to be doing well together. I often find them hanging out together happily. I feed them separately. I'll keep my eye on the possible mating situation.

Also, reading about tank size, I feel I will need to purchase a larger tank soon. My friend said I wouldn't have to get a bigger tank, ever, but I feel she was misinformed. My tank is 15 gal. "Fluffy", I feel, would be fine with this size for the time being since she is small. "Mufasa", on the other hand, will need to be in a larger tank soon since he is bigger.

One question I have is; is it possible to handle the snakes too much? I sometimes handle mine twice a day. When I first got them, I left them alone for two days.

I'll post pics soon - maybe someone can help with the color names.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!:)

I guess there is such a thing as handling to much but twice a day for 20 minutes won't hurt anything. I am also keeping two yearlings I received from Rich this morning in the same tank, but it is a thirty gal and as soon as I get my other snake sexed and these two checked out, I might move them around. Especially if the unknown Amel(anistic) turns out to be a female. I wouldn't want males to fight! As they come of age you might need two tanks but I am going to wait a few weeks on mine so I can get the money:rolleyes: My hypo Okeetee is a beautiful red so my friend called it rose, but its a male :p I can't wait to see pictures ;)
