Newborn Shedding Question

I have forgoten how long I had to weight until the baby's have there first shedding? And with this being the first time I was planning on selling more then 12 baby's and the first time I have had to put 18 in small plastic containers. Should I get a rock or 2 from outside and place it in the containers? Will a waterbowl(ashtrays) and 1 piece of paper towel be enough for them the remove the skin?

And now that I am thinking about it. I have never in my 18 years of owning everything from boas to gardensnakes have had any tick or mite problems. But with 18 baby's, should I invest in a tick and mite spray? Or is my commin sense when coming to cleaning everything going to do just fine for my baby's?

You all have help me out more then any text book could. Thanks for all your time.

Now all I have to do is:
- knock on wood
- toss some salt over my sholder
- keep my fingers crossed
- Toss a coin in a pond
- And pray
They all want to eat after they shed.​
 
First shed should be within a week.

Something rough in the tub with them wouldn't go amiss in helping them get their skin off. The cricket tubs I use are rough where the holes are punched in them (very handy) so that does the job for me.

Ticks/mites shouldn't be problem unless they are likely to be around something that may transmit them to the hatchlings. Certainly not something I've ever had a problem with.

Hey... When you talk of using those Cricket tubs, are you talking about the all white ones that have that smiling cricket on them and a picture of a smiling cricket on it? The ones that I have seen at my petstores have some green tube sticking out of the center of the top.

I am only asking for the next batch of king and corn snakes that I am planning on incabating in a bachelor fridge, next year.
 
The cricket tubs I use are just small clear plastic tubs. They're roughly 7"x3"x3" and are fine for the first month or so for a hatchling.

I'm in the UK so maybe your average cricket tub is different in US pet stores.
