newly hatched quail???

CRIKEY!

New member
I’ve been thinking about birds because of my wife not wanting me to put rodents in our freezer. Has anyone tryed newly hatched quail? Rodentpro sells 1 day old quail. So I was wondering how big they were. Are they too big to feed baby corns? When the snake gets bid enough, how are chicks to feed them?

Cheers! :grabbit:

I gather it's not the norm to feed corns quail & chicken chicks, but Rodentpro e-mailed me with the answer if your interesterd.

"The one day quail are not small enough for a baby corn snake. A one day quail weighs about 7.5 to 10 grams. I would recommend feeding a pinky mouse as it is the most suitable for a baby corn snake. Once a corn is large enough to eat quail and chicks then you sustain a feeder regiment of chicks and quail."

It sounds cool to me. I think I will try it. Any suggestions?

I feed my 100 gram and up day old quail. They are a bit to big for wee ones, if you have problems with the wife keeping mice, just get a small freezer and keep it in the garage. :)
I have a second freezer that I keep food in and the smaller one I keep the rodents and birds in for the snakes.

My adult corns can eat the week old quail, the black rats the two week olds. Any time I've offered them they've been eaten with little hesitation. My picky anery A corn will always eat quail...
