Well i have a new viv (picture in post your viv topic) and i was measuring the temperatures around the viv to be sure the snake could temper regulate himself. I was expecting that one side would be 30°C and the other 24°C but this wasn't the case, it was better! Let me tell you about my setup first: I have a UTH on one side but it's smaller as 1/3 of the viv but it's placed diagonally, The reptile store said a bigger UTH would overheat my viv to easily because it's an wooden viv and it isolates better. they were right on that one. I have a lamp in the middle of the viv, not an heat lamp but it gives of some heat and it has a half wooden protector around it so it won't light up the whole room where the viv is in. There is a hide on the heat mat, one on the side what i though was gonna be the cool side and one in a shadowy corner. So i was measuring the temperature by the hides. Turns out the one on the UTH was 29.5°C, the one on the "cool side" was 27°C and the hide that was put in the shadow is 24.5°. I'm so happy that that it worked out this way accidentally! I'm always worried about the temperatures xD
