Okay I dont know what het is. I think I might have an idea but Im not for sure, when I did a search on it het is only 3 letters and it told me I had to have more letters.:argue:
I tried it the old fashion way and look through all the post but, TO HELL WITH THAT it was taking to long! :headbang:
So can some one explain it to me (and please try to make it simple as possable  I feel as if I could get confused easily on this one!)

Thanks for bearing with me, :D

Jaimee,

Just as an aside, if you are searching for a three letter word such as "het" you can simply add an astrisk to the beginning or end of the word, and the search is on!

"het*" will get you everything you need on the subject. Good luck with your searches!

By the way, I didn't realize to which thread that link led you until after I had posted before. My little part of that explanation is factually questionable when it comes to how motley and stripe genes related to one another. It was my understanding that what I wrote back then was correct, but it seems I may very well have been mistaken.

However, in its use as an explanation of what "het" means, nothing has really changed. I just didn't want anyone getting wrongful information because of my lack of comprehension on a subject.

Hope that clears it up a bit --

thanks!

Thats for the info. I wish I would have known I could do that! would have saved me some embaresment! LOL :shrugs:

Im still a little confused.

Okay when I was looking at a sunglow the lady told me that it was het motley sunglow. Now If I were to breed it (which trust me im not! just tring to use a senerio to see if im understanding)with a motley sunglow. would you still get Normal sunglow because that gene is still dominant?

Im probably way off! please be understanding.

dont feel bad

i'm a biology major right now and still find genetics to be a rather tough topic. However, i must say that constantly reading this forum and sites like Serps that have examples that i can relate to have helped me out greatly.

So when i graduate and hopefully go on to grad school, i'm gonna thank my parents for helping me pay for school, my roomate for keeping me out of trouble (most of the time), and you guys for gettin me through genetics

THANKS:D
