No poop?

Hello,

I've had my corn snake for about a 1.5 weeks now and he's gone through two feedings and I haven't found any poop at all in his cage. Both feedings were with f/t pinky mice and he's had no trouble eating at all.

Is there anything I should be concerned about?

Thanks!

What substrate are you using? Is there a possibility that you could have overlooked it?

Otherwise, check that your snake isn't looking bloated.

Chances are you'll get worried, take him out to check him over and he'll poop all over you!

I'm using aspen bedding. I've searched all over for it and unless its really tiny and hidden somewhere, he hasn't pooped yet.

Pooping all over me is fine by me as long as he's pooping :)

Well that's a very generous attitude.

I take it the snake is small, maybe just a month or two old? I've found that when my snakes are in a big growth spurt they tend to have next to no feces. Particularly with small snakes.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your snake has started to exhibit other problems like sluggish movement, refusing food, obvious bloating. If he is constipated there's not much you can do other than make sure there's always water around, the dish is big enough that they can soak in it, and give them exercise.

A little soak in a tub of water often does the trick, ive found! Make sure its no warmer than 25 oC though.

Well I finally found some poop in the cage. I also gave Loki a bath last night and he pooped in it within like 20 seconds of hitting the water.

Anyone elses snake seem to love being in water? He was constantly swimming around in it and seemed to be enjoying it.

glad to hear he is pooping!

I haven't tried most of my snakes in water, but the ones I have tried, hated it!
