No Shed for Four Months!!!!

Siddhartha and I have been getting along great, and he is on a regular feeding schedule, and the humidity and temperatures are right in his habitat. Still, he hasn't shed in over four months, and I'm beginning to get worried. Is this because it is winter and they go through a semi 'dormant' stage? Or is something actually wrong?

Also, he tends to stay away from the heated side of the habitat. His cool side runs about 65-70 degrees, but i never see him on the warm side, could it be because he doesn't like the hide set up, or will he know enough to be over there when he needs to?

I'm still new to this and would really appreciate any information that can be offered.
Thanks!

Siddhartha is a little under a year old, and when I first got him he shed regularly on this same feeding schedule that he is on now. Everything I read before getting him told me that for a snake under a year old I should feed him every five to seven days, but seven days was a maintenance diet for pet stores. I guess I'm a little confused now.

As long as he's acting and eating as normal i wouldn't worry! Some are just slow growers. You may want to look at his prey size if his growth has leveled out, but i wouldn't feed him any more frequently. Once my snakes start eating prey with fur (ie hoppers +) i up them to 6/7 days. I have one snake that is hardly ever in his hot hide, as long as he has the option to regulate he'll do whats best for him.

I feed my hatchlings every 6-7 days, and this was recommended to me by Don of South Mountain Reptiles (and other sources online). Three have shed twice, 1 has shed once. I think it can just vary!
