nose problem

Haven't posted for a while, oh well:D

Recently, one of my corn snakes has been trying to get out of his viv by squeezing through the gap in the two glass panes at the front. The only problem is he's too fat and ends up just rubbing his nose on it trying to get through. Will this damage his nose? Should i put something in the way to block this escape route.
Thanks for any info:cool:

yes, I would try and prevent your snake from doing that. Could cause a pretty bad nose rub and infection could ensue.

Heres what can happen----This girl double clucthed one year and I missed her in her panic to find a nest box. She rubbed her nose raw on a mesh vent screen. I was lucky no infection set in, but her nose will never grow back. Do what you can to prevent this from happening.

no way of knowing how to stop but you could try to protect her nose by getting some of that draught exclude stuff you put round door frames... stick that on the edge of the glass so that there isn't a gap... it might help... it's softer than the glass and mesh..

I put some tissue in the crack of the glass and it seems to be working. But as always he now has a new anoying habit, he climbs up to the ledge at the top of the viv and then falls off waking me up during the night several times. I wish he would just grow up!;)

:D Miine does the same dumb thing, it kills me to watch her climb up and then fall down but it has stopped lately  i wonder what will be next?

if the gap is made by doors then i would glue or seal a peice of glass over laping the tow doors to just onr door that way they still can be opened and it will get rid of the gap.
