Not Eating

One of my Corns has not eaten for almost 2 months. A friend once said to take the snakes water away for a few days and then try feeding the snake with a wet mouse? Any ideas on whether this is a good or a bad idea?

Thanks

Are you offering him frozen/thawed or live mice? Sometimes they can get picky about eating frozen/thawed and will only take live for a little bit. Mine stopped eating for a couple months and i had to get live and he ate it right away, so try live.

Or I heard if you cut the mouses noise so a lil bit of blood shows can help.

hope that helps good luck...

No don't feed wet mice, and don't take it's water away.

How old,big is this snake. where do you keep him,etc
.
Need more information,please.
MIKE

She is 5 years old, 3ft long and lives in a 3ft by 2ft viv. It is the same viv she has always lived in. Until now she has never had a problem with feeding, but she seems to have lost a bit of weight over the past few months. I have only ever fed my snakes thawed mice or rat pups, which they all seem to enjoy.

Maybe it's just that time of year.
Wisper Jr gets refuse feeders puts them in a pillow case and takes them out for a drive in the car ( me driving). His new theory is that a change of venue kick starts the feeding response. I can't say if this works as he has only just started trying this out.

if she only ever had thawed then i would try a live mouse. that oughta get her into eating again....
Live feeding is technically against the law in the U.K. So anyone doing this won't admit to it anyway.

Actually it's not illeagle at all in the UK

Legislation affects the use of feeder animals in the UK (the Protection of
Animals Act) and perhaps other countries as well. The UK law is not
particularly restrictive---it requires that live feeder vertebrates be used
only as a last resort and that the feeding process be monitored. Local US
jurisdictions may also have relevant regulations. Apprise yourself of the
local legislative situation as it applies to your feeding practices.

Google the subject and you'll find that you must be able to prove it's necessary, doesn't cause unnecessary suffering and must not be performed in public. Perhaps a stunned or f/k would be better in case the snake gets injured thogh. Hope this helps
