Not feeding

My corn snake, which I acquired a week ago, isn't eating for me. I've tried wiggling it in front of her, tapping her with it, and leaving her alone with it in the dark (the mouse is pre-killed) She's about 5 or 6 weeks old. Is this common with baby snakes? What can I do to get her to eat?

We'd recommend leaving her completely alone for a week when she first arrives, so that she has a chance to settle in. This might be your best course of action now. As well as new arrival's nerves, you don't want her stressed by repeated feeding attempts.

It is reasonably common for baby Corns to refuse food. As long as she was eating for the previous owner/breeder, then she should start again once she feels more relaxed in her new home.

Going without food for a week won't cause her any harm.

Thank you for asking this question. You saved me from having to do it! I was really dreading the idea of braining a pinky and now see that it probably won't be necessary.

Ahaha I didn't want to either, which is why i decided to ask xD plus when you get your first snake you realllly want it to stay healthy.
