One problem solved, but does that mean more trouble?

She ate! By god she ate! This feeling of relief is so darn refreshing!

I have never had a snake turn down a meal yet. (Well, not completely true. Dez turned down food once but he was in the late stages of blue...)

When I first tried feeding her it was as usual. I put her in a clean snake feeding tub and then gave her the fuzzy. However she did not go near it at all and if her nose ran into it she would jump back and hiss. Even though I gave her one week to acclimate I thought she might need some more time. So four days later I tried again. I put her in the tub with the fuzzy alreadyin it, closed the lid and covered the tub with a towel. Half an hour later she still didn't eat so I put her in her tank and then I put the mouse on a large dish infront of her hide. Nothing. I thought gopher snakes were garbage disposals! :shrugs:

Last night I tried one more thing. I bought myself two large live pinkies. I put her in the feeding tub again and then I added the large pink. She seemed interested in only escaping. I had her covered for an hour but nothing. So I figured he best thing I could do for her now was put her back in her tank and leave her alone. Now I am not one for feeding inside a tank but I was getting worried for her. I put the pink on a large plate with newspaper on it and then I placed that in her tank. I covered the tank and when I checked on her two hours later the mouse was gone and she was sitting in her hide with a full belly! :)

Now my only worries are;

Will she ever eat outside her tank? (I do not much like the look of newspaper lol)
Will she ever go back to frozen mice.....?

Glad that the snake has eaten. I know how happy this must make you feel.:)

It's possible.

It is possible for a snake to go back to eating f/t after they have been fed live.

As just one example: I have a Cornsnake that was a problem feeder. ~Very~ sporadic, with f/t, until she stopped eating altogether - no tricks worked either. After a fair while, of this, I tried feeding live ... which she took to and, so, remained on live feed for awhile.
Finally, after about 2 1/2 months, I tried f/t again (washing the f/t feed first) and she ate the f/t.
She has been back on f/t, for the last 12 feedings, without a single problem nor skipping any meals (knocking on wood) ... but I do, still, wash her intended feed (guess I worry about a "back slide" if I don't continue to do this for, at least, awhile longer... if not indefinitely). She was such a wee little thing, before the start of feeding live, but her growth really took off since that time.:)

Okay, well, another example ;) : My daughter's BF "adopted" a California King when the snake was 7 yrs. old and had been fed live his entire life (from hatchling to his age of 7 yrs.).
After a "few" months, since the "adoption", I convinced my daughter's BF to try to start feeding f/t.
Well, his snake accepted the f/t and has been eating f/t for at least one year now.
