what is the right size viv for a 2ft snake the viv shes in at the moment is
2ft-1ft-1ft. am i right in saying this maybe to small considering she is as long as the viv?
sorry about all the questions i just want to get things right. :shrugs:

It is my understanding that a corn can be kept in a 10 gal viv until about 1 year old. I think that they can be approx. twice the length of a viv and still be fairly comfortable. My corn is a little over 4 months and is 21 inches long. She is as long as the viv. I will keep her in it until next summer. Then I will get a 20 gal viv. Which as I understand it, would be sufficient for the rest of her life. If I am not correct(which happens more often than I would like), I am sure someone will correct me. Hope this helped.

I have read on these forms that hatchlings can live in 10 gallons till they are a year and then a 20 long for the rest of their life. My hatchlings will be in ten gallon tanks until they are about a year, then I have a 20 long and a 30 breeder that they will move into.

I would say there is no immediate rush to move up, but she can probably be moved up now if you are able to do so. I wouldn't say there is a perfect size. Of course, the larger the viv the better. A 20gal long is sufficient for an adult corn. I went ahead and moved my snow to a 20 long when she was the same size as yours and have never had a problem.

Really depends on the rate they are growing. Think the general time is (as I have been told) every 6-8 weeks.

I think you'll find youngsters under a year can shed as often as once every 4 weeks. As they age, they'll shed less. My big amel sheds maybe every 3 or 4 months now. My yearlings about every 6-8 as Gintha stated.
