pigment missing on head?

I have a clutch of amels from an amel stripe x amel outcross pairing and several of the offspring are developing patches of missing pigment on their heads. The patches seem to be getting larger and whiter each shed. It's not an injury or anything on the scales. It's like the pigment is just being gradually erased.

The discoloration on this one is to be the most noticeable, though most of them seem to have some level of missing pigment. Here he is back in the middle of September:

Here are some pics taken earlier today, two months and two sheds later.

Anybody have any insight on what might be at play here?

Yes, I also thought it must be rubbing, but the scales are present and show no signs of damage, just like in that link you posted.
How weird!

I guess at least it's not just a corn snake thing?
