Pine hide?

Hi,
I have a question. I just bought a hide for my new Abbotts Okeetee, and I think it's made of pine. Would it be alright to use if I painted it? What kind of paint should I use if it is o.k.? :wavey:

Those hides are perfectly safe to use as is. I have them in my corns tank and they are not strongly scented. Go ahead and use them as they are. Otherwise you'd probably have to go with some type of latex paint to cover.
