pix of my 3 norm.

They look awefully grey and orange (Miami Phase), is that the pic or are they really like that? Cuz they really look like miamis. That's not a bad thing, I love miamis!

i

Don't mean to "get on your case"

But for one, at least one of those snakes looks underweight to me.

For two, a breeding female???? How can you possibly be ready for breeding any snake?

Please don't do something irresponsible with an animal because you think you will make money or it will be fun. It takes a LOT of research to breed corns and any animal, and by most of your posts I can see you haven't done it. I am just afriad for your snakes. and any you produce. Please do research.

Bmm...

I'm not trying to be disrespectful... I respect you alot! Did i miss something? How do you know that he hasn't done his research? I'm not criticizing you for what you said, I am just curious how you know, cuz as much as I agree that one/two looks underweight, I don't know he doesn't know much about breeding. So did you know this from earlier, cuz it doesn't show in this thread at all (or does it)

Sorry if I came accross rude, I don't mean to at all.

no

I don't think anyone is being rude :)

How do I know? Well less than a few months ago he posts about catchling wild caught corns, he wanted to purchase another before taking that to the vet. He says he didn't have enough money at one point to pay for a fecal (its less than 50 normally) He wanted to "catch another snake or two" to breed, he said he would keep all the babies together in a couple of tanks, the list goes on and on and on.

:) Seriously, aintlikeitl00ks I am *not* trying to sound rude. Its hard to show tone over the net. But I am concerned that you are thinking ahead of yourself. You were/are having a hard time taking care of one corn, and yet youwant babies! :) I am sorry but that takes tons and tons of pinkies, and sometimes even a vets help, heating equipment, and seperate enclosures. I am just concerned for the welfare of your snakes and any babies they have.

I just was trying to say that IMHO I think you need to visit this site more, get The Cornsnake Manual by Kathy Love, and read a lot more research on corns. That's all. :) good luck though.

i did take my old snake to the vet bmm and it ate the froozen mice to spite paying the bill for the vet and stuff i let it go bcuz you told me to and since then i have been doing reasearch like an animal! i went and got a job so i can pay for my snakes tanks heating lighting and vet bills!
so get off my case!

Hmmm...

aintlikeitl00ks-I think Bmm stressed in his/her last message no harm meant in the posts. Relax!

When someone comes on here without the most basic of husbandry knowlege and within a few short weeks is ready to set up a breeding operation, it turns on the red lights for many people... I for one have done enough rescue over the years, fixing up animals that other people have not cared for adequately and then dumped in my lap to fix up, that I am cautious when it comes to this sort of thing as well.

I commend you for seeking to learn more about your animals and also for getting the job to have the money to care for them. I am sure that you will do fine. I assume you are a young person... sometimes us "older folks" forget what it's like to get all steamed up with enthusiasm and excitement. Be patient with us and we'll do the same for you.

Cheers...

Mare

yes

You should relax. I didn't mean to upset you.

I like what Mare said. That is my problem too I think....the countless numbers of rescues because people want to breed animals because they *think* they will make money or it will be fun. In the end these animals end up in homes like mine, or Mares or others who are willing to clean up for a bad breeders mistakes basically.

I am not "on your case" but frankly when you post a picture of three snakes, two being obviously underweight, then you say you are getting rid of one to get another one, that *Does* bring up red lights for people. It sounds very irresposible. Why get a snake just to get rid of it? But of course thats your choice. I just hope you are doing real research and you are aware of the high cost and toll of breeding on your animals. thats all. have a nice day.

sry bout my temper
i got my baby one cuz my friend had no idea how to care for it and lost intrest in his snake and jus 4got about it so i bought it for the snakes sake, i am not intrested in breding for cash ne more. as for my biggest one according to the breeder that i bought is from it is a homozygeous(i cant spell to save my own life) ghost corn. i am anxious to see the babiez!!!! and the other corn is also underwieght i agree and i am trying to get it to eat and it is not easy i tried to get it to eat mice on ice but i cant get it to eat, so i am in miami right now to get it some live mice, to avoid bites and injuries to my cute lil snake a freind suggested i break it jaw(is this ok). i got the baby to eat just fine it has fed three times already but i guess still under wieght. my other corn is just right...

i dont mind working hard for my snakes i love snakes and all reptles i have always been intrested in them and when i actually caught and kept my first one and did alota reaserch i was hooked.
ive had snakes b4 but like for short periods of time just to get a couple picures(i love to photograph stuff). i've had copperheads, coton mouths, easterd diamond back, black racers, some weird lookn type of iguanas, and some other stuff.

Ok....HOTS are venomous species. In FL, you need a venomous reptiles permit to possess them. YOU do not have that permit, they don't issue them to minors.
