Background: The following corn was bought march of 2004 as a extremely early 2004(guess the breeders didnt follow the "seasons") Anywho, i got her from local mom and pop petshop. she was labeled as an albino cornsnake. I had only had my first corn for a couple months, so naturally telling the difference between an "pure corn" and a hybrid was not something i was expecting. However, i did notice that she had a lot of orange/yellow vs. red/orange in her coloration. Well the months passed and she has colored up nicely.

The shape of her head seems to be shorter and more rounded than my other corns. Her head isnt as defined from the neck as some of my others as well. She was a slow grower, yet is the most fierce eater i have. Her size steered away from the notion of creamsicle. Then i saw some of the amelanistic jungles that are in corncrazy's gallery. There was the bold yellow with white blotches, which mine was not quite that extreme and there's the bright orange one. Mine seems to fall dead center b/t the 2, but again, i'm no expert by any stretch of the word.

Question: Do you think the following snake is a hybrid? if yes, then with what?

I love her dearly b/c she is among the most docile i've ever owned. I'd like to include her in future breeding projects, however i would not want to misrepresent the hatchlings. If i can't come to a conclusion on her makeup then she wil just remain a sweet pet. Thanks a bunch

PS~ Please forgive the poor photography, and the fact that she's blue right now. new pics coming after shed.

i'm no expert, but that snake screams jungle corn to me. based on the colors and head shape. it's probably a cross of albino cal king x albino corn.

Junge Corn

She looks like a very pretty jungle corn to me. I had one a few years ago and he was also one of the sweetest snakes I've had.

yeah, the more i look at her the more i think so too. When i first got her, i accounter the round snout and head to just being young and figured she'd grow into looking normal but when the colors hit overdrive and the head stayed the same, i figured something was up. I think i might just have to find her a normal male jungle h. albino. Ah jeez, here i go adding another one.

Pirate, if EVER you decide you don't want that snake, please email me!! LOL What a gorgeous albino jungle! Are you planning on going to the expo in May in Raleigh? Would love to see it!!!

I will definately be attending the expo this year. I had a couple thoughts about getting rid of her, but i think i'm going to let her get a little more age on her before i decide for sure. Now i just have to find a mate for her.

Thanks for the responses. It's what i expected, i just wanted to get some 2nd opinions on it.

I'm going to take a gander and say that is a hybrid-jungle corn. The thick neck, head shape, and pattern tips it off. Very pretty, I might add. :)

100 Jungle Albino

I know this because i have a male who is almost identical to her :) If you ever want to get rid of her please tell me because i want to mate him someday, if you wanna see him go to www.geocities.com/ocsnakeman and look at Kaa's Pics :)

Congrats on your Albino Jungle, I love mine, hes great!

Oops... I was only going to vote, not post as well, but for some reason it registers my vote as a No. I swear I hit the Yes button. Don't know what went wrong, but it says I voted No and I really didn't mean to. Sorry. Maybe it's just too early inthe morning for me. :shrugs: Please just disregard your 1 "No" vote. If I could change my vote I would.

Very pretty snake, and it certainly looks like a corn/king cross from here...If you get a chance to you may want to inform the pet store owners so that they can label the snakes as such so no one else buys them thinking they are pure corns....

this snake was bought a long time ago. He has corns in there now, and i'm sure they're corns. My eye for things like this is a lot better. Like i said, when i got her, i had been into corns for maybe 2to 3 months at the longest. I thought something looked suspicious, but it wasnt until recently when i saw the jungles that i could put my finger on it.
