Pre Brumation Weight Loss Question

I have a new worry about trying to brumate my trio. I haven't fed them since the first of Oct. We had a cold snap the first part of the month and I thought things were going to be fine but now it has warmed back up conciderably....been in the high 70's and it's predicted to be in low 80's next week....so I'm having trouble with cooling them off before putting them down for brumation or for that matter having the closet I planned to use anywhere cool enough. It's been staying in the mid to high 70's in there. After reading posts I decided to go ahead and put them in there anyway this morning but then remembered I wanted to weigh them first. To my great dismay I discovered that since Oct 8th one girl dropped 10g going from 390g to 380g, the other girl lost 15g going from 360g to 345g, and the male lost 9g going from 212g to 203g. This seems to be way too much of a drop to start the process out....am I worrying for nothing or am I right???? Would I be better off to feed them smaller meals every two weeks and extend the 'night time hours' as someone said in their post?? (Or since they lost that much should I feed regular meals for awhile?) If I do that what temps are best to try for?? And how many hours of darkness do they need?
Thanks from a Worried SerpentMama

I have had the very same problems. Where are you located? My male is brumating no problem but my female won't settle down, she is out every night searching crazily for food. Although i didn't weigh her i know she was loosing weight. Today i decided enough was enough and fed her a fuzzy. My thinking is i will feed her every two weeks with a fuzzy ( easier to digest without 80 degree climate) and just keep her in the dark closet. I don't know how this will work but i am hoping her body will do what it is supposed to do with the lower than normal temps and no lights but still keep her weight and maybe even gain a little which would be nice for a pre-breeding condition.
My temps are 69-74 degrees.

Let me know what you decide to do and we can compare notes.

Chris thanks for answering my post. I've decided to go with it and just keep an eye on them. I may change my mind and cut their "sleep" short but for now that's where I'm at.
I live in TN right now...not by choice but that too is where I'm at for now. ;)
