So happy to say my rat Squinty has had her first litter, I've counted 10 from a webcam I have set up, and the occasional checking on her. She seems like a great mommy right now. At the moment me and the b/f think shes having another, but we shall see later. I'll keep you all posted.

I just knew she'd have them tonight! The way she was building her nest this morning. I'm so happy for you and her. I hope they all turn out nice and healthy.

Ok So last night the male finally decided to wander downstairs in the cage....JUST as the b/f and I were going to bed and we heard frantic squeeking. i looked over and he had one of the babies in his mouth. Well now there are only 8 left :( So we took him out and stashed him away in a seperate cage. But as for the rest of the lil darlings. Their doing just fine, and squinty has moved them to under a kleenex box where she can hide in peace.

That sucks hun, im sorry. Good thing you seperated him."Bad Daddy, Bad!" Well good luck with the others :)

Haha I'm happier now though. one of my twin mice had 11 babies. the twins are the daughters of Marie. I like the fact Maries babies are big breeders. I wonder how many the other twin will give me.

You know, Stacy, I was thinking. Maybe Monster eating that baby is proof that he is not the dad. Earlier I remember you saying that Scruffy might be the dad. I've heard that sometimes males will eat other male's babies. Just a thought :shrugs: .

Not only that. But he's also mean. So Either wait I figured he was never going to be a good daddy like my male mice.
