Put a waterfall machine into my corn's hide

So, we had trouble keeping Dex's moisture level in his tank, so we came up with the solution of a wet towel covering part of the top grate. This worked well for a while, but over winter and with the furnace running the towel dries out when we're sleeping or at school. So we decided to put in this fancy pants waterfall a friend passed onto us. We've taken precautions to make sure he can't get into the machinery, honestly he's too big to fit in there, but we laid glass aquarium pebbles around the pump just in case. The water is filtered, just like his drinking water. I think we've covered all bases, but I figured I'd ask the experts just in case. Thoughts? Advice? Opinions?

"Too big to fit in there".... LOL! Sorry - heard that before! The plastic housing for a coil of domestic electrical cable doesn't look like you can fit a four foot Corn in it either - especially once the cable is fully wound in. Guess what? The only way to get the snake out, is to break the casing off - as my afflicted friend discovered!

That concern apart, I'd wonder if the vibrations caused by running it, might disturb the snake. Watch his behaviour and see if he's more or less active than usual. Either might indicate that he's stressed. They're pretty sensitive to vibration.

Also I seem to remember that snake poop in the pump causes a bit of havoc. Clogs the pump and causes problems with cleaning. I think there was someone here who tried it once - a long while back now (possibly another forum). His snake took a liking to using it as a latrine and eventually he had to give it up.

It's a great idea if you can make it work though. It'd be a good-looking solution to a humidity problem, that's for sure.
