Putting them on the ground

Is this something i should do?? or is done?? My Kids are bored with having "Lava" crawling around their hand, and are asking me if we can put her on the ground and watch her move...
What can i do with her that doesn't involve keeping a hand on her??
Sorry this is my first snake!! :)

Well if the "ground" is generally clean and knowing that it could poop on your carpet, I see no harm.
But don't turn your head for an instance!. :sidestep:

It's risky. They are fast. I don't put mine on the ground. I'm sure my daughter and nephew would love to see them snake around, but they're out of luck. I suppose if you took some sort of confinement precautions it might be okay.
Just my two cents.

How old is your snake? If she is still a hatchling, I wouldn't risk it. They are too quick. However, once they get older, they slow down just a bit, plus there is more of them to grab. I wouldn't dare put one of my hatchlings on the ground, but I do sometimes put my older snakes down.
