Pyromelana breeding

I'm thinking about buying 2 subadult pairs of L.pyromelana (woodini and knoblochi) and I'd like to find out a few things :

- what is the minimum female weight to breed?
- brumation -> how long and what temperature?

I'm asking here because I find this site really helpful and active and i know there are some King fans here :)

I can't help you with the weight question. But I know that pyros have small clutches. A 3 month cooling between 50-65F degrees should trigger the mating desire. Pyros are slightly more susceptible to respiratory problems and need to be checked periodically during the brumation. They are otherwise hearty animals and my adult female will go 2 months between feedings about twice a year :shrugs: Other than those periods, she eats regularly and is just about as docile as they come. Good luck to you if you decide to go for it. Here's a pic of my girl, her name is Dakota
