I searched and didnt see where this photo has been posted before.
This picture is said to be a couple years old and shows an Olive Python trying to tackle a wallaby carcass. Supposedly, the photographer left after an hour. The snake became tired trying to lift the meal.
You know, sometimes you look at a snake in captivity and you can't imagine how its camoflauge works. It's all so clear to me now. You wouldn't even notice the snake if it wasn't hanging down.
Amazing how persistant a snake can be - wonder if it ever gave up and traveled on to find something a little less waterlogged, or if it hung there until another preditor found it. Or could it have managed to swallow the meal?
