Question about euthanizing mice

Rich in KY

Fortunate Fool
I have never euthanized any mice before and I have question for you more experienced people.

Once they are euthanized using CO2, are they safe to be fed to snakes immediately or do they need to be "aired out"?

From what I understand, the CO2 leaves the body fairly quickly, so I let mine air out for about 20-30 mins before feeding. Never had a problem.

Rich, CO2 is not really toxic unless it excludes all the oxygen. The bubbles in soda pop are CO2. It is not dangerous to the snake in any way.

I've fed mice to snakes that came directly out of the euthinizing tub and never had any problems. What Wade said basically.
