question on tupperware housing

hey guys I am getting a ball python tommorow(I know I know its a corn snake forum) and I am going to buy a fair size tupperware container to keep him in for a few months as I have to keep it on a low down from my in laws.

My question is just this, How do I go about heating and getting the right amount of moisture in a setup like this?

Humidity shouldn't be a problem, unless you go nuts on air holes. Start out with just a few (1-2 rows), and add more if necessary... You might want to set up the tub and do this before you get the snake, since fluctuating and improper husbandry points will often make a BP refuse its food.

As for heating, just get a heat pad, a thermostat, and a couple digital thermometers, just like you would with any other enclosure
 
Heat pad = UTH... I wouldn't recommend putting a heat pad INSIDE the enclosure, at least for your peace of mind.

If kept on a thermostat, the UTH shouldn't be able to melt the plastic. Even if it were uncontrolled, I don't think it can... Depending on how hot the UTH in question gets. Regardless, you SHOULD keep it on a thermostat (especially with how sensitive/picky BPs are!!) and, by doing so, shouldn't have to worry about any melted plastic either way.
 
Very good question. I have all my adult corns and Black Rats in 28qt sterilites with Newspaper, 2 hides and a water bowl. It works quite well. Back of teh cage is 83f and the front stays at 76
