CBS News has confirmed that Peter Steele, front man for Type O Negative, has died.

In an email, Mike Renault, the band's manager said, "Peter passed away last night. As of now it appears to have been heart failure. That's all the details we have right now."

R I P Peter ...The world is a much colder place without you.
 
Yeah I have to admit his music and voice would freak me out sometimes. I'm more of a Rob Zombie chic, but my husband LOVED Type O Neg. RIP Peter.
 
I was stunned when my husband told me that Peter was really dead this time, not like the joke they pulled a few years back.
 
I listened to Type-O Negative as a teen, but it still saddens me to hear that Pete is gone from us. He gave it his all and left one hell of a soundtrack.
 
Atleast I got to see them twice in concert, both times were very crazy nights. R.I.P. Peter.
