So my snake spends a lot more time on the cool side then the warm side. The cool side has a slightly better hide than the warm side, and I would say it is generally more enclosed. I just fed him, and it is a cold day, and he went straight to the cool side when I put him back in the tank. Does he go to the cool side because it is more enclosed? Should I put the heat lamp on the side that is more enclosed? (If I did this, I would have to change the tank around a bit because the water bowl is on the cool side right now, and I want to keep it that way) Thanks everyone!

he may be going to the cool side because it's more enclosed or he may be going to the cool side because the warm side is too hot.

Have you checked the temps lately?

Just leave things as they are, or if in doubt close in the warm hide some more. As long as your snake has proper heat to choose from trust your snake. This feeding, my snake hung out a day in the cool hide and then a day in the warm hide and then back to the cool hide. (There are other hiding places as well but I'm talking about the main ones). Also if you have aspen substrate essentially your whole viv is a hide so your snake will be where it needs to be.

I wouldn't worry about him getting cold. As long as you have proper temps and the warm side is warm enough, corn snakes are very good at regulating their own temperatures by moving across the gradient.

The only suggestion I would make is to make sure the warm side does have a nice enclosed hide, so he can feel safe and secure and warm.
