rat sanke and hamster

I saw this article, I think its absolutly stupid to keep the pair together. The article suggests that the two enjoy each others company which is hogwash, ofcourse. Just give it a while, the hamster will chew a nice hole in the side of the snake....it's probably only a matter of time.

Yeah, It says 'They are best of friends'.. Well they're not are they? The snake just.. doesn't want to eat it, it's not like it enjoys it's company..
LOL If they took the hamster away, rat snake goes "Oh no don't! He was my mate!" :D

My mom sent me this article minus the picture, and I thought it was ridiculous. Now to see it with the picture I think it even more so.

It's a Japanese ratsnake in a Japanese zoo (who would probably not find a hamster in the wild) and they don't know that this species self brumates? Mine still isn't eating, but she's in good shape. They need to do more research into animal husbandry before calling themselves a zoo and publicizing their ignorance of animal welfare.

haha they had an over under bet on pti the other night on when the rat snake decides he's hungry :)

this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen...i wish i could fine a pic of a captive royal who had such shocking injuries as a result of leaving a live mouse in its viv for the night..it had to b put down as it chewed away most of the top of the poor snakes head...i have searched and i cant find it...
