ratsnake/cornsnake..diffrent?

hey there!from around by me this subject gets a little confused!rat snake/cornsnake they are both called each other!how can you tell one from the other?
 
Ratsnakes are a group of snakes; corn snakes (sometimes called red rat snakes) are a kind of rat snake. All corn snakes are ratsnakes, but not all ratsnakes are cornsnakes.
