Yesterday I took my 5 year old corn snake to the vet because she had this dry patch of skin on her after a bad shed and I just wanted her to be evaluated to be on the safe side. (Vet wasn't too concerned, just suggested raising humidity and that it should be healed after next shed). Anyways, while I was sitting in the treatment room with her waiting for the vet, I heard this rattle (sounded like a rattlesnake) and I just assumed that it was the treatment table vibrating. However, today, I was reading the forums and saw tail rattling being referred to so after some research, I learned corn snakes can rattle their tails and watching videos I confirmed this was the sound I heard.
Now I am concerned because she has never done this before. I understand she was probably stressed at the vet, but today she has just been in her hide all day. I didn't know to ask the vet about it because I originally didn't even know it was her.
Do you think she is OK? And is it OK she is hiding so much, since usually she is much more active? Should I call my vet?
