Do corns usually act differently after they eat? I fed mine 2 days ago, and he hasnt' left his hide yet. He's already completely digested his mouse, and already gone to the bathroom. He'll peek his head out, but if I walk into the room he quickly pulls his head back. He's still a baby, I've had him for... a week or so, so I think he'd be used to his surroundings

It'll take more than a week for it to get used to you and it's surroundings. Give your little one some more time to get acclimated.

My amel is about 1 1/2 years old and at times, still pulls back into her hide when I walk into the room. Other times she'll be spread out in the open and won't budge. :shrugs:

mine hide when theya re about to shed i eather have to hunt for them , but when they arnt in shed they barly hide so it might be shed time, or still a little shy

A little more time . . .

The general rule for a new snake is leave them alone for 3 days after arrival, then feed, then leave alone for 2 days. After that you can start handling them for short periods of time every day, except when digesting. Well, I used that method and I've had no real problems with any of my snakes being stressed, however it still took my 1st baby a month+ to settle in, and my "newbies" are still pretty nervous. I think it will depend on the snake and the environment, however don't assume that your snake will be chillin' after a week, he/she will probably need more time. Another thing too is maturity, hatclings/babies are just a lot more nervous than adults. Don't fret, give your baby some time. :)
