My little ghost corn died today...she had been having some regurge issues that for a while I thought I had overcome.

She regurged her last meal, but I had sliced the head mostly through, and when she regurged, the head wasnt there, so I figured at least she digested that much.

I moved her tank and added a digital thermometer so I could more easily monitor the temp. in the tank. It had been at 80, but I read a post by Rich saying that some times snakes just have a preference for a cooler temp, and that sometimes hatchling regurges could be attributed to this. I lowered the temp to 75.

After waiting, I fed her again last night, and she did seem to struggle a little more with the meal. She was alive this morning, but when I checked her this afternoon, she was limp, and the food lump was still in her belly.

This is my first death...

I just added my avatar last night, which is a head shot of her...

Thanks...

I have to say, as hard as it was to discover her, Im so glad that I can post it in here and have people understand. Although they may not be "conventional" pets, I think that this site demonstrates that they dont wiggle their way into our hearts any less.

Thank you again for your concerns

sorry

sorry to hear the news. I know how you feel! I am knew to snake collecting and have a number of corns, plus two rosey boas...

I had three roseys, but came into my classroom one morning and found one had died!

Joje, first of all Condolences, I don't think there is a single person that loves this forum as I do, who didn't hold their little "wiggly" one a little snugger tonight. So Sorry.
